Applause for Workload Automation Analytics!

Last week Terma had the pleasure of attending both the Boston and New York user groups for Cisco's Tidal Enterprise Scheduler.  The reception and need for Workload Automation Analytics was overwhelmingly positive!  So much so that we received a enthusiastic round of applause.

Job Scheduling Analytics, TES, Tidal, User, Group

What seemed to raise the most eyebrows was JAWS' ability to present predictive analytics for TES users. The groups saw high value in the ability to proactively manage the performance of their Jobstreams in any easy to consume gantt-chart view.  As workload automation continues to drive the business, the need to meet job schedling SLA's is becoming increasingly more important.

Some questions to ponder:

  • How do you ensure jobs complete on time?
  • What jobs are in the critical path of your SLA driven target job?
  • If a job fails, what is the downstream impact?
  • How do you predict job scheduling performance issues before they occur?
If you are new to the concept of Workload Automation Analytics I encourage you to read this white paper written by Enterprise Management Associates titled "Cisco Systems and Terma Software Labs to Join Forces for More SLA-Aware Workload Processing".  The paper does a fantastic job of highlighting the need to bring SLA awareness and assurance to your workload automation environment. If you are more a visual learner, check out this video preview of JAWS Workload Analytics for Cisco Tidal Enterprise Scheduler.
